Dealing with the Embarrassment of Premature Ejaculation
One of the biggest reasons that men don't seek help for premature ejaculation is that they are embarrassed. Talking to your partner, a doctor, even to other men about premature ejaculation can seem like a very difficult thing. Many men feel ashamed, like they have done something wrong or there is something wrong with them if they have premature ejaculations. Well there may be a medical problem that is causing the premature ejaculation but that doesn't mean that you are defective or that you will have to put up with premature ejaculation for the rest of your life. You shouldn't feel embarrassed or ashamed of talking about your premature ejaculation. It's the same as if you had any other medical condition. You wouldn't be ashamed or embarrassed to tell your doctor if you had the flu would you? Telling your doctor that you are having premature ejaculations isn't that much different.
Even though it can be very hard to open up about your premature ejaculation you shouldn't feel embarrassed. Most men suffer from premature ejaculation at some point in their lives. Some men deal with premature ejaculation for their entire lives. Since men are supposed to virile and never suffer from any kind of sexual dysfunction it can be hard for men to admit when they are having a sexual issue like premature ejaculation. But talking about premature ejaculation problems can be very important to help you deal with feelings of embarrassment and shame.
If you feel embarrassed and ashamed about your problems with premature ejaculation then those feelings could make you feel anxious when it comes to sex. And if you are anxious about sex you could develop performance anxiety issues which will make having sex seem stressful and something that should be avoided. Those feelings can lead to increased incidents of premature ejaculation or they could make you not want to have sex at all. So it's important that you share your feelings about your premature ejaculation problem with your partner, with a doctor, even with a support group if you are having a long-term problem with premature ejaculation.
One thing that you should also remember is that when it comes to premature ejaculation there is not set amount of time that you should be lasting during sex. Most men only last three to five minutes during intercourse so if you are ejaculating after having sex for less than three minutes that is not necessarily a cause for concern. If you are concerned about your premature ejaculation then the best thing that you can do is face the problem openly and honestly and involve your partner and your doctor so that you can get the support and treatment that you need in order to beat the problem the premature ejaculation.
You can overcome premature ejaculation with the right support and the right lifestyle changes. Managing stress and anxiety can make a difference in stopping premature ejaculations and talking openly about your premature ejaculation with your doctor and your partner can help you reduce your anxiety about sex which could stop your premature ejaculations altogether. So if you are having problems with premature ejaculation sit down and talk with your partner. Talk with your doctor. End the silence regarding premature ejaculation and don't be embarrassed.
