5 Things You Must Know About Celebrity Diets

1. Before beginning a celebrity diet, remember the basics. No matter what you may have been told, the only proven way to lose weight and keep it off is a combination of healthy food choices and regular exercise. While cutting calories is effective, it is still important to get all of the right nutrients. Some celebrity diets suggest sprints of a dangerously low calorie intake combined with days of caloric overload. This sort of yo-yo diet can be dangerous for your bodily processes. While you may be able to achieve weight loss, it is likely you will regain the weight quickly. Additionally, without proper exercise, a change in food consumption will have only a minor effect.

2. Stay on track. Many celebrities have cashed in on the fitness enterprise by releasing books, videos and tutorials on how to lose weight fast and look like a cover model in just a few months. However, many celebrities also hire personal trainers to keep them in line. Unless you can afford a trainer, you are going to have to be your own drill sergeant. In addition to incredible amounts of self control and will power, you will also have to set a schedule that fits your lifestyle and adhere to it daily.

3. Keep realistic goals. From supermodels to movie stars, it seems like everyone in Hollywood has impossibly tight abs, toned arms and glutes of steel. Some celebrities, such as pop stars and dancers, lead careers based on fitness. While a diet based only on reducing portion size may work for Lady Gaga, Justin Timberlake and Beyonce, these celebrities also spend several hours a week in the dance studio outside of their primary fitness regimen. In other words, don't expect to have Rihanna's abs by simply cutting back on fried foods and running on a treadmill a few times a week. Extreme results require extreme dedication.

4. Keep your age and body type in mind. Always consult a doctor before you begin a diet of any sort - especially a celebrity diet. While some of these diets are a healthy solution, many fad diets can lead to health risks and malnutrition if practiced by the wrong person. The Victoria's Secret model diet, for example, includes rigorous cardio exercises which may be fine for a healthy 25 year old, but physically dangerous for a 60 year old who has recently recovered from a heart attack. 5. Nutrition is key. As a society that is constantly battling obesity and struggling with body image, many people result to extreme measures for achieving weight loss. Remember that any diet that limits the nutrients your body needs is an unsafe decision, regardless of who endorses it. Every diet should include balanced meals chalk full of vitamins, protein, iron, and other essential nutrients. Before beginning any celebrity regimen, be sure you drink water regularly and get plenty of rest. By eating healthy, working out regularly and sticking to your chosen healthy celebrity diet, you will achieve a red carpet worthy lean and fit look in no time.
