Did You Know? Everything You Wanted to Know About CFS Part Three
Chronic fatigue syndrome is a mysterious disease that even after over 20 years of research studies many facets of the disease are not know. Let's take the time to learn as much as possible about this disease that involves chronic and unexplained fatigue.
Did you know that generalized types of headaches are common with CFS as are new types of headaches that develop all of a sudden? This is also the case when it comes to headaches that are new in their level of severity or the pattern they take.
Did you know that pain that jumps around from joint to joint but is not accompanied by any level of redness or swelling is a common symptom of CFS as is feeling cold all of the time and night sweats.
Did you know that individuals who suffer from chronic fatigue syndrome often react negatively to environmental agents such as chemicals, odors, perfumes, cigarette smoke, toxins, and pesticides, et cetera and they are often very sensitive to a variety of sounds, sensations, and temperatures? Sensitivity to a variety of medications is also common with CFS sufferers.
Did you know that having "neurally mediated hypotension" is a symptom of chronic fatigue syndrome? Usually when an individual stands up their blood pressure drops down a bit but for those who suffer from CFS it drops down quite a bit which can cause the person to become faint or dizzy and sometimes nauseous. The next thing that happens is that the person heart rate drastically drops and this can cause the person to pass out.
Did you know that stomach problems are also a symptom of chronic fatigue syndrome and this includes bloating, constipation and diarrhea? People who suffer from CFS are prone to developing other sicknesses very easily and are susceptible to any number of allergies, infections or viruses.
Did you know that it is sometimes the smallest things that make the biggest difference when it comes to managing chronic fatigue syndrome? Educating yourself should be priority one as the saying "knowledge is power" is so true when it comes to this disease as well as other disease. First of all research the disease as completely as you can. There is more than one way to do research and the more ways you utilize the more armed you will be with the information you need. Visit your local library and look up books, journals and any other publications that have to do with chronic fatigue syndrome.
Did you know that the Internet is an excellent source of information when it comes to finding out all you need to know about CFS? Look to these sites for useful information- U.S.Centers for Disease Control and Prevention www.cdc.gov/cfs, The CFIDS Association of America www.cfids.org/cfs, American Academy of Nurse Practitioners www.aanp.org, American Academy of Physician Assistants www.aapa.org, American Academy of Family Physicians www.aafp.org
Did you know that chronic fatigue disorder cannot be determined by any one particular diagnostic test and therefore deciphering the ins and outs of this mysterious disease is extremely difficult? This disease is often misdiagnosed because many of its symptoms mimic other diseases such as for example, infections or biological conditions such as Epstein-Barr virus.
