5 Things You Must Know About Detoxification
1. There are four major organs that carry out detoxification process from the body. They are the liver, kidney, lungs and skin and continually remove toxins from the body. The number of toxins taken in to our bodies generally is too high and might overwork the main detoxifiers. These organs therefore work in conjunction with lots of auxiliary ways of detoxification. The other organs that support the main detoxifying organs are the gut, lymph, gut and the colon. The amount of toxins we consume daily, however, is too high and calls for the need to carry out external detoxification as well.
2. The liver removes toxins from the blood continuously. Its detoxification process does not stop even for a few seconds. It cleanses the blood 24 hours daily, all year round. If it were to stop even for a short time, you would be dead within hours. It removes the excess fats and many other toxins to deposit most of them in the colon. It must therefore be supported through good nutrition, so as to help it in the cleansing process. Cruciferous vegetables such as cabbage, cauliflower, broccoli and brussel sprouts are good in helping the liver detoxify. Other food items such as bright color vegetables and fruits do the liver a great favor.
3. The kidney mainly dilutes the toxin. It filters blood to eliminate the harmful substances as well as excess water from the body. A person should therefore drink a lot of water to aid the kidney in the dilution process. In addition to this, one should eat parsley leaf, herbal tea, juicy fruits as well as vegetables to enable the kidney to function well. If too many toxins accumulated in the kidney, it would cause water retention and even kidney failure.
4. The skin, the biggest organ in the body, plays an important role in eliminating harmful toxins mainly through sweating, depositing oil on the surface as well as shedding of dead cells. Sweat helps in getting rid of excess water and some of the toxins filtered by the kidney. The skin and the kidney therefore work in co-operation. The shedding of the skin is also a way of getting rid of excess protein which is poisonous. Some recommended nutrition to improve the skin's function includes pumpkin seeds, flaxseeds, water, walnut, fruits and vegetables. Some substances in your body are eliminated through the skin and they leave differently. This can be through skin reaction, allergy or inflammation.
5. Lungs remove carbon IV oxide as well as other toxic gases that are released into the blood stream during the various metabolic processes. This is done when you breathe in and breathe out. Some toxic gases are also inhaled and the only way of getting rid of them naturally is through exhalation. Some of them get dissolved in the body fluids and are pushed out of the tracheal system in mucous. Some gases are rejected by the body and forcefully forced out of the body through chocking. Breathing is therefore interfered with and unless one gets fresh air, the person might chock to death. One therefore needs breathe in fresh air as much as possible.
