5 Things You Must Know About Eating
1. Eat in proper quantity. Many people confuse about how much they should eat. The answer is quite simple. You have to eat according to your body requirement. Each person's energy requirement is different. This is influenced by many factors, such as age, sex, race, daily activities, type of activities, and many related factors (basal metabolic rate, immunologic state, endocrinology state, psychological status, and others endogenous factor). How do we know we have fulfilled our body needs? A simple guide is if you get hungry again in three hours after the last meal, you have not provided enough energy for your body. However, if you feel full after eating and after six hours feel no hunger, you may eat too much.
2. Get high quality foods. Your body not only needs proper quantity, but also quality foods. There is no use if you supply your body with a high amount of carbohydrate if you don't get other important elements of food, which are protein, fat, vitamin, and mineral. Each element has their own role in maintaining your body function. You can get carbohydrate from common sources like rice, potato, and wheat. Protein comes from animal meat and peas, while fat can be found in many animal and plant sources. Vitamin and mineral are considered as micro-nutrient. Your body only needs small amount of them, but they are very important to keep you healthy.
3. Don't eat the same things repeatedly. People tend to repeat something they like. It is also true for what they're eating. After found a 'perfect' food, people tend to stick with it for a long time. And this is not a good practice if you want to keep your body in optimal condition. This is especially dangerous if you stuck on non-healthy food, such as junk food and instant food. Try to diversify what you're eating. the same burger everyday will not only make you get bored easily, but also make your body doesn't get what it needs. There may be not enough nutrients in the foods you repeat over and over again
4. and allergic. This is another thing we should pay attention. Food has been known as the biggest source of allergic reaction In short, allergic reaction occurs when there is an eliciting agent that triggers the body's immune system to release various inflammatory substances. This allergic reaction can range from mild to severe and will need prompt treatment. If you have a tendency to develop allergic reaction (i.e if you have close relatives who also have the allergic reaction, or you have already had an allergic reaction to the non-food allergen), you should pay attention to what you eat. If you experience a sign of food allergy, such as itchy mouth and lips, reddish and swollen lips, or reddish bump around the mouth, you should stop eating whatever you're eating and consult doctor for prompt treatment.
5. , obesity, and systemic diseases. What you're eating plays an important role on your general health and your future health. Many systemic diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus and Primary Hypertension occur because of what we have eaten. Too much eating, combined with sedentary lifestyle, will increase the risk of getting obesity. Obesity itself is a dominant risk factor for Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension. If you pay close attention to doctor's treatment for Diabetes Mellitus or Hypertension, you will see that doctor will always advice for better food/diet management. To avoid getting Diabetes Mellitus or Hypertension, you should watch your food carefully. Get a balanced diet and avoid getting too much sugar, salt or fat in your food to stay healthy until old.
