5 Things You Must Know About Hairloss

1. is caused because the number of hair stands that falls off our body everyday are not replaced at the same rate, or the hair is regenerated at a much slower rate than it falls. There are many reasons for hairloss, the primary being environmental and hormone related hairloss, that may be caused by diseases or a slight change in hormone lebvels. Hair grows from a group of germinal cells known as hair follicles. If the hair follicles are intact, proper nourishment of the scalp would help the hair growth at a normal pace. If the hair follicles are damaged surgical replacement or hair transplant can be done to combat hairloss. Prolonged hair loss leads to baldness.

2. The first feature and symptom of hairloss is the thinning of hair, as the hair does not receive proper nourishment, the appearance of split ends, the hair being out of normal color and texture, and the density of hair gets reduced. All this together is called alopecia. Alopecia are of two types, male and female pattern. If the hair is lost in the front part of the head, the area from the forehead to the mid of the head then it is a male pattern hair loss and this can be attributed to increase in testosterone levels. Once this hormone is normalized hair starts growing at a proper rate. Female pattern of alopecia is the one, with low hair density, or the number of hair strands per unit area is below normal and it takes place at the back of the head. Many diseases like polycystic ovarian disease, hormone imbalance, using oral contraceptive drugs, and the use of radiation therapy for the treatment of cancer can cause the female pattern baldness.

3. Anemia is an important causative factor for hairloss. Taking iron supplements and identifying the cause of anemia and treating it can restore normal hair growth rate. Anemia or reduced iron levels in your blood causes improper nourishment of the scalp and hair follicles, and the hair does not grow properly or the hair that falls increases leading to hairloss.

4. Another big reason for hair loss, is that normally toxins in the body get accumulated in the hair and when the toxic levels increases this causes the hair to fall. If you live in a polluted environment or work in a factory the level of toxin accumulation in the hair gets increased and the hair regeneration rate becomes very low and leads to hair fall. Use of tobacco and alcohol also causes accumulation of toxins in the hair strands and causes hair loss.

5. Stress levels also place an important part as stress in the mind creates imbalance in the body and causes imbalance in hormone levels, which contribute to alopecia. Reducing stress using relaxation and stress management techniques, quitting tobacco and alcohol, and taking natural and nutritious food are the key to combat alopecia by natural methods. Most medicines try to work in the scalp level by regulating enzymes responsible for hair generation and could give good results. When the hair follicles are damaged, the only way to replace hair is hair transplantation.
