Staying Fit with Step Aerobic Exercises
Those who are interested in staying fit may find many benefits do exploring aerobic exercises. Aerobics help to raise your heart rate, burn fat, and tone your muscles. There are many aerobic choices from running and walking to using aerobic machines, and participating in aerobic classes. You can dance, hop, run or walk your way to good health and physical fitness. There are many ways to increase your aerobics workout once you get started to continue the good health that aerobics can bring to your body.
You can increase your aerobics workout by using s"tep aerobics". It does not require a lot of space or financial output to participate in step aerobics. Step aerobic routines have you participating in many of the same principles that aerobic activities you have been doing such as a series of arm movements set to music. The step aerobic routine is vertical and involves a small platform in which you step up and step down. It is low impact so it won't stress your joints like other activities such as running or jogging will do.
The step aerobic platform comes in different heights with four inches being the height for beginners.
Step aerobics is easy to learn and the routines can be varied where you can slowly work up to a higher level of aerobic workout. Individuals also incorporate free weights into their aerobic routine to give their upper body a more intense workout.
It is important to remember to stick to your current routine until you feel completely at ease with it and then you can intensify the workout a little more. If you push yourself too quickly it can result in sore muscles.
Posture is very important when it comes to aerobic step exercises. Your back must be straight and you need to place your food solidly on the platform when you are stepping up onto it. Then place your foot directly behind the platform when stepping down. Your head should be up and your shoulders back. Every aerobic step routine needs to start with a warm-up and end with a cool-down. Following warm-ups and cool-downs are important because they protect your body from injury.
You will receive benefit from step aerobics in that it is an excellent cardiovascular workout and you will strengthen your lower body muscles.
Many individuals enjoy step aerobics because it has the flexibility of being done in a group or in the privacy of your own home. It can be an enjoyable workout done to music and does not stress your joints in any way.
