5 Things You Must Know About Migraine
Most of all the people who comes into the office of a doctor would most likely complain about headaches. There a lot of reasons regarding the causes of headaches. One such headache is what we call migraine. Here are the five things that you must know about migraines.
1) is also known as sick headache which is attributed to a variety of causes. One of the medically accepted belief is that the sick headache is a result of sensitivity to some protein substance. It produces alterations or changes by this allergy in the form of swelling and fluid inside the skull which causes the migraine. s or sick headaches differ for various individuals and also in the same individual. The associated factors of physical and mental state have a great deal to do with the duration and intensity of sick headaches.
2) s that occurs occasionally may be definitely related to some action that happens occasionally, such as, too much intake of of alcohol, drugs, tobacco and the like, excessive eating and bad diet, exposure to toxic substances or gases. It can also be triggered by the strain or overuse of the eyes brought about by the fact that defects of vision have not been properly corrected. If such error of the eyes can be determined and properly corrected, and if exposure to glare can be controlled and if excessive use of the eyes can be lessened, migraines associated to the eyes promptly disappear.
3. The brain lies in a fluid known as cerebrospinal fluid, which is enclosed in the membranes that cover the brain. These membranes are sensitive to stretching and thus, anything that effects an increase in the cerebrospinal fluid or that produces pressure inside the membranes can result to a migraine. There are a number of ways that can raise the intracranial pressure, or the pressure that occurs inside the skull.
4. Another factor that causes migraine is high blood pressure. If the blood pressure is lowered during or after a rest, the migraine also disappears. A tumor growing in the skull, once it becomes sufficiently large to cause pressure, can be a permanent cause of migraine or even a far worse condition. Infectious diseases that produces inflammation as well as associated with it, an outpouring of fluid, can also effect serious migraines. It may actually be an early sign or symptom of infectious diseases.
5. Mild infections in the sinuses, hunger, constipation, indigestion, menstruation, kidney diseases, and fatigue are frequently detected in the people who have repeated migraines. Simple remedies, such as rest, change in eating habits, moderation or simply stopping the use of tobacco, alcohol or drugs can be a great factor in addressing the problem of migraines. The number of remedies offered for migraines is almost as great as the variety of causes. If a person who has never had migraines begins suffering repeated and constant attacks, there is a need of careful study by a doctor or physician. If the attending physician can determine the relationship to some physical or mental factor and can address that factor, relief is likely.
