Benefits of Meditation for Brain
A study has been conducted by the researchers of the Yale university for the brain which shows how meditation impacts and switch off certain areas of the brain that are related to day dreaming, schizophrenia, anxiety and many other psychiatric problems or disorders. The results of their discovery has been published in 'Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences'.
The Brian of experienced meditators show very less activity in a region called 'default mode network' which is an area of the brain that is involved in self centered thinking. This study was done by looking into neurological mechanisms that was involved.
So they started using f MRI scans that is functional magnetic resonance imaging scans and observed the brain of experienced meditators and the novice, where all parts of the brain was active, including the areas that control the self monitoring and cognitive control for experienced meditators, as their default mode network was active.
Meditation will help to fix many health problems like stopping the habit of smoking, prevent cancer and psoriasis.Hence it is always advisable to do practice meditation in order to get peace mind and and a healthy body.
