Parenting Skills Overview and raising a self assured Child

Parenting skills are a broad subject about as broad as the variety of day to day events that occur in our lives as we raise our children. Parenting is difficult but it can be easier with good skills. Furthermore, raising a child to be a good adult is a skill that takes you all their childhood as it is an ongoing process that encompasses a child's total self. From self esteem to sports challenges. Learning to bring out the goodness in your child as they grow and doing this without punishment is paramount. Additionally you need to consider that you are an example to follow. Here you will find a few hot areas to be sure you work on that will help you succeed by being a good parent and thereby to helping create a good self assured child.

One of the very prerequisites for raising a self assured child is to be self assured as a parent. Put your needs on the list too. Do what you can to be happy and less stressed. You must set a good example and be happy in order to raise a self assured child. If you are a bad example by being unhappy and stressed your child will learn the same.

Self Esteem

Develop self esteem in your child

As parents, we are responsible for developing self-esteem in our children.

We are in charge of our children's development and good parenting skills are important. Learning how to help your child develop self-esteem contributes to a healthy person with the ability to go out in the world and be self assured.

Self-Confidence

After a child has self esteem then they need self confidence

To help a child gain self-confidence is a many faceted and important goal. It helps a child develop mentally and emotionally, and as an extra bonus it helps with life skills and building self-esteem. As a parent there are certain things that we can do and skills to develop in ourselves and in our child that will help our children grow in self-confidence and be self assured. A self confident child must have self esteem.

It is important in the development of a child's self-confidence, self-worth, and self-esteem and how you respond and teach them to handle situations in life. Their life skills are formed early in life by life's experiences, emotionally and mentally. So what you do as a parent is so very important

Alternative to punishments

There are does and don'ts that need to be explored. But most of all as a parent, we need to exercise alternatives to punishment with our children.

There are some alternative guidelines that help to build self-esteem and show love and that you care about your child.

These guidelines all are:

* seek to meet your child's needs.

* Childproof your home for very young children if at all possible.

* Consider your child's feelings with empathy.

* Follow the Golden rule. Which is: Think how would I like to be treated?

* Make sure you and your child get proper nutrition throughout the day.

* Reassure your child of your love and give hugs, kisses, eye contact and your attention

* give your child choices.

* Take a minute to breathe take deep breaths-calm down.

An alternative to punishments is a verified subject. There are many methods, and these are only a few even though they might seem unrelated. Utilizing these alternatives will help to build self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth in your child. That child will grow to be self assured.

Helping your child become a responsible and self assured adult is challenging and yet rewarding. It is in your control to help shape your child's future. To do this you need to utilize many different parenting skills. Most of which are not covered in this article. The subject is broad and variable.
