More studying for the certification exam
Studying for the reflexology board certification exam can be difficult. There are many different aspects of reflexology training that you need to focus on in order to meet the pass rate for the written exam. In this article, we'll go over some basic information that you'll need to know if you're thinking of taking the exam. Since it costs one hundred and fifty dollars to take the exam, you should ensure that you do as much studying as you can so that you won't be wasting your money.
- There are three sections of the written exam: reflexology, anatomy, and business and professional standards. All of these categories encompass several different things that you'll need to learn about in order to pass the exam. For instance, in the reflexology section of the exam, you will be quizzed on the history of reflexology, common mistakes that you will need to avoid when performing reflexology, analyzing patients' responses to your treatment and how to successfully read a reflexology chart, along with terminology related to the field, actual reflexology techniques and several other subjects. The anatomy section of the test focuses upon testing a student's ability to identify the anatomy of the feet, along with pathologies that are related to the feet and anatomical terminology that you will need to be familiar with in order to successfully work as a reflexologist. The third section of the test is expansive, and it covers many of the aspects of running a reflexology business. You are tested about the do's and the don'ts of ethics in the reflexology business, ensuring that you know such things as what to do with patient records and patient histories. Also, you will be quizzed on how to properly document your reflexology sessions which will be helpful when it comes to submitting your documentation as per the third part of the exam. Consent forms and brochures will also be touched upon in this area of the test, ensuring that you know exactly what you need to know regarding business practices regarding reflexology.
- One thing that you will need to learn about for the test is the use of oils and tools for reflexology. While most practitioners avoid using oil when performing reflexology, some swear by it, and it's important for your knowledge of the field to be all-encompassing. Also, the use of tools such as a solar plexus point locator may be considered fair game for the test, so you should do your best to inform yourself about the technological advancements that are in place that can be helpful to a reflexologist.
It's going to be a challenge to get your reflexology certification, but it should be. Think about it, would you really want just ANYONE to be able to become a reflexologist with a minimum of difficulty? The reflexology certification program works to ensure that there is a level of professionalism present for reflexology practitioners, and your hard work will pay off when you successfully complete the full exam.
